About the Business
Mone Bros are a family run business that has been providing a range of professional services to the construction and utility sectors for over 45 years. Founded in 1965 by brothers Phil, James and John Mone, the business started with humble beginnings from their first depot on Gelderd Road, Gildersome, near Leeds. The original business specialised in the maintenance, repair, hire and operation of plant equipment, supplied to a wide range of private and public sector organisations. The business continued to grow, largely down to the skills and commitment of the original family members coupled with the opportunities rising from the transformation of Leeds as a city during the 1960's and 1970's.
Tens of thousands of slum dwellings were replaced by modern housing estates which have since earned Leeds the accolade of Environment City of the UK. As a result of their success and growth, in 1979 Mone Bros moved to Morley, Leeds which has remained their head office ever since.
